hello, indiana!

Well, I'm here! I got here late last night. The bus ride, to say the least was long. It was quiet as a toom for most of the ride. I tried to read, but couldn't concentrate, so I just quietly sat. I got in the capital of ind around 9. after a quick food stop, we started the 2 hour drive to where I'm staying. It actually turned in to a 4 hour drive, because it started snowing. We got home about 1ish. We stayed up till about 4. I was up around 9, to play with the neice. She's been a pill today. We're all tired, and so she being 5 is grumpy. we just finished pizza, and now we're al just relaxing. I think tomorrow we're going to do a bit of christmas shopping, or bargain hunting. stay tuned for updates!

prayer journal

well, I have been vertually nonexistant on this blog since I first created it. So, I'm going to start something new.
It's called a prayer journal, and it's just that, a journal where I write down my prayers for the world, country, my family, myself, and anything or anyone else that needs prayer at that particular moment. My goal is to write twice per day, once in the morning, and once in the evening, and maybe more if things are on my mind.
Noone has to read, but comments are welecome, if you need prayer or if I need advice or bible verses of hope and inspiration.
So for this post:
Sunday, November 9, 2008. Dear lord, I'd first like to thank you for everything that you've blessed me with today, and every day. These things aren't material things lord, they're people. I'm so blessed to have each and every friend in my life, and I know you've put them their for a reason. We all go through trouble, but with your help, we'll get through it all, and only you know the purpose of everything we as god's children have and will be going through. Also, plese be with our country as we are going through transition, and with the church I attend, and every other church that may be going through change. Please be with those who are sick and in need of your blessing. Help those who may not know you and walk with you to become one of your followers, and just be with all of your children no matter what they are going through at this time. Please give me the strength to get through each and every day, not only as a college student and through every day life, but to grow and become closer to you. It's in your name I pray, amen.
God bless you all, and may we all become closer to the lord.

the light

This is a concept I've been messing with for a day or so, but was afraid to publish, I thought my readers might think it's stupid.
There is a saying that says, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It doesn't, however, say how to find it, and what to do once it is in view. If you want to know my thoughts on the light, I think it is god's lantern, waving through all the wind and storms, saying, come here, come lay your problems at my feet, let me deal with them. The only problem is we get so ingolfed in the darknes, we can't see the light, we don't know where to turn, or how to find the lord if we want to.And, sometimes the light isn't where we think it is, and when we can't find it, we become angery. And we call upon the lord and say, where are you?! You said you'd be there for me! In reply, we get a sign that he has never left, and has been there, forever and always. So, the point of this hole post, keep going, keep looking for the light, it may be just a pinpoint, but it's there. Sometimes, it will be bright as day, then you will know, the lord kept his word. He's always been there for me!

the journey

Everyone goes on a journey, it begins with the very first breath that is taken. And ends with the very last one. The things that happen in between are all in gods plan, he knows before we are created what will happen to us. Every day, is a steping stone, which will bring us closer to god, or whatever our beliefs are.God loves us all, and even though I'm going through so many issues, god hears my prayers for help, and will answer them the bestway he sees fit. I'm amazed at the people, who know when I need kind words, and even though I may not know them all that well, they know what to say to me, and they continue to say it, whether I listen and believe or not. They are all apart of my journey, and I'm so greatfull and thankfull that they are there, and will alwayse be there, no matter what.

blind faith

You know, as we walk through this journey of life, they're are lots of times where we just have to depend on faith to get us through. A couple of examples of this include but are not limited to: moving into a new apartment and city, starting college, and just getting through certain parts of your life. I knew the first time I ever set foot in the antioch church of christ in febuary of 2007, that I loved it. I didn't know how much until I made the choice to come back a little over a year later. So, if there is one thing I want my readers to learn from this blog, I want them to know how bad you think your life is, put everything you have in the lords hands, and it will be delt with. Maybe not the way you think it should be, but it will be taken care of. I'm not to this point in the bible, but read hebreews chapter 11, the faith chapter, when if you need faith and reasons to believe. And trust me, you will, we all do at some point or another. God is good, all the time. All the time, god is good!

introduction!

Hello everyone! My name is Alison, and I'm a new Christian, so I thought I'd start this blog and devote it to the Lord. Anyway, I use to go to church when I was smaller, but never cared for it much. I would always not pay attention, sleep, etc. So a few months ago, I decided that I wanted to return to the church and understand he Bible. I attend Antioch Church of Christ, which, is the best church ever! I think the Lord is the greatest thing I've ever seen, his blessings are everywhere! The people at church are blessings, friends, family, etc. So, anyway, expect some interesting posts to come!
